GETTING LOST IN THE CANADIAN WILDERNESS

Early spring is the perfect time to visit the vast and beautiful forest areas of the North Eastern USA and Canada.  Temperatures are getting milder, the days longer and snow, illuminating the landscape, is still covering the ground.

This is a good time to visit a “Cabane à sucre” a “Maple Sugar Shack” in the middle of thousands of  maples.  We know a few “Cabanes”where you can not only follow the craftsmen making maple sugar, or even the collecting of fresh maple sap, but also enjoy a hearty “Woodsman’s” or “Lumberjack’s” lunch or dinner.

In one of the “Cabanes” near Quebec City, the staff wears traditional early Canadian outfits and the meals are traditional early Canadian fare, served in a log house in a maple forest.

Sled rides can be arranged and some “Sugar Shacks” even have limited, traditional, lodging available.

Near all major or minor cities in the North East of North America, from Thunder Bay in Ontario, Canada to Bangor, Maine, day excursions or excursions of a longer duration can be arranged. Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City in Canada, Lake Placid, Montpelier, Boston, Manchester, and Portland, Maine in the USA are other major starting points for these excursions.

Naturally, there are other winter activities we can make arrangements for (aside from skiing!!): Snowmobile excursions, Ice fishing, Sled dog tours, Ice climbing

With demanding clients looking for something unusual to do in late winter, this may give you some ideas.
